Shopping for Sneakers

So let me summarize real quick what I have learned while shopping for black running
shoes in size 11 XXWide.

We drove out to Torrid and were surprised to find that the store carried very few shoes and
nothing in our size.

I ordered the only extra wide black running shoe on the DSW Canada website.
Unfortunately they do not fit like an extra wide and I returned them.

I ordered the size 11W “Wide Knit Lace-Up Sneakers” in Black and in Heather Chateau Rose.
The reviews suggest that this shoe fits very wide (which sounded reassuring). Oddly enough
the rose coloured sneakers fit, but the black ones did not.

While shopping around hamilton I found a place called Millers that specializes in hard to find
shoe sizes.  The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. The store clerk led me to their New
Balance running shoes that they stock in five width sizes, (narrow, medium, wide,
XWide, and XXWide).

This store looks like stress free shopping at it’s best.  They are more expensive than I am
used to paying, but I think it is worth it considering how difficult it has been to find true extra
wide shoes.

My daughter tried on a couple styles in the size 11 XXWide (4E).  The one was a bit tight
because of her high arch. But the other was perfect.  We bought a black New Balance
Walking shoe (WW928BK) in size 11 4E. They cost $169.95 plus tax.

There is also a New Balance website and store in Canada.  But it appears they only carry
the 4E width in the U.S.
