Sandal Shopping Part Two

I have spent a significant amount of time trying to find out where to buy women’s
size 12 extra wide shoes.  And it had never occurred to me that this may be a plus
size issue. After all, my sisters and I were skinny kids.  And we grew up having to
wear boys ice skates because girls ice skates weren’t wide enough for us!
But now that it has been suggested to me, I guess it makes sense that overweight
people might require wider shoes on average.

So, my daughter and I went to Pennington's and we were pleasantly surprised.
The store clerk explained that their shoes fit so wide that customers usually find
that they can wear a size smaller than usual.  My daughter tried on some shoes
and excitedly discovered that she is a size 11W at Pennington's. Unfortunately,
most of their styles have heels.  Which is great for most girls, but not one that is
already very tall. I will definitely keep an eye on their website for sandals that she
might like, now that I know how well they fit her.

www.Penningtons.com actually has some flat sandals that are nice.  I have a
feeling this site will become a useful resource for us in the future.
Our next trip will be to the Torrid (another plus size store).  Wish us luck!
